We ended up going to the ER around 9:15pm last night. I had been in pain all day long and I couldn't take it anymore. This visit was by far the best (well, as good as an ER visit can be) that we've had. We got there and signed in like usual. I sat down for a few minutes before they called me over to speak with the first RN that stands basically in the waiting room and does some sort of triage I'm assuming. Anyway, I went and sat back down for like 2 minutes before being called back again to go to get my vitals checked and I'm guessing Triage part 2. Well, first they were taking my blood pressure and asking me "what brings you into the ER tonight?" like they had no idea, then next thing I know--they're calling someone saying they "have a 22 year old female with history of Ectopic Pregnancies that is tachycardic and needs a to be taken back now." So naturally I was really worried because 1. I had no idea what 'tachycardic' meant and 2. they were taking me straight back from triage and the waiting room was so crowded it was a budding fire hazard. No joke. When I got to the room they immediately started hooking me up to all sorts of stuff. They put the sticky things all over my chest, so when it wasn't plugged up yet it looked like I had tentacles. Then they had some of the normal stuff-- like the blood pressure machine that has the cuff that cuts of the circulation to my entire hand, they put an IV in, hooked up the pulse ox monitor etc. Then the nurse decides to inform me that the "risk" of me having surgery is too high for me to be able to just drink liquids for the ultrasound and that they really needed a Foley Catheter (refer to this post about my last experience with a Foley). I decided to save my breath for another issue that was more than likely more serious of an issue. I did however tell her that she needed to increase whatever pain medicine they were giving me so I did not feel what was happening down there. She tried twice to put it in. The first was clearly not in the right spot and the second was, but she did something wrong and wasn't getting any urine out put. She left the room to try and get a smaller catheter and Ativan/more pain medicine before she tried again. Well for some reason the doctor decided I didn't need the ultrasound and canceled everything--confusing. Instead, he did a pelvic exam that hurt like no other and when he intentionally pressed on certain spots it REALLY hurt. He said he "thinks" I have Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. (Update: I went to the ER yet AGAIN on 10/27 and I don't have PID--like I said.)
oh, total they gave me 12 mg of Morphine, 2 mg of Dilaudid , 4 mg of Phenergan (a nausea medicine), IV antibiotics--and I think that's it?...Who the hell knows.

It's so funny because all of this is in detail in your "notes". They also gave ya Rocephin and Zofran but they are the IV Antibiotics you were talking about, then Doxycycline and Percocet. Like you said I think you need a frequent flier pass or something...geez..I really hope they figured all this out soon. I will be waiting for results from your visits next week. Keeping my fingers cross for a REAL diagnosis!!! I think you are on the right track now though. Hang in there girl. Love you!
hahah yeah the doxycycline, percocet and zofran are all the prescriptions the doctor wrote me. =)
well i'm glad at least this visit went a lot better than the previous ones... i know what hospital *I* will always be going to when i need it. i think you'll like SC OBGYN - they are really nice at that practice and there's like 7 doctors so if you're not crazy about the first one you can always just see another. :) hopefully the ER doctor was right and they'll just confirm it when you go see the other people - at least then you know what's causing everything and can figure out how to treat it!
